At Literary West Review, we seek out books that reflect the voices, landscapes, and stories of the American West. We welcome submissions from publishers, publicists, and authors. Please note that we do not review books outside the scope of Western literature, nor do we consider self-published titles or unfinished manuscripts.

For full consideration, ARCs should be received at least two months prior to the book’s official publication date. We also review select post-publication titles. Please note that all submitted materials become the property of Literary West, and we are unable to return items or honor restrictions on their use.
Our Scope
Literary West Review covers the full expanse of the American West—from the Great Plains to the Pacific Coast. Our coverage includes North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, Nevada, Idaho, Washington, Oregon, California, Alaska, and Hawai‘i, as well as select related works from northern Mexico and western Canada.
Review and Coverage Guidelines
We are committed to producing reviews that are honest, thoughtful, and impartial. We do not guarantee positive coverage, nor do we offer authors the opportunity to edit or preview reviews. Submission does not guarantee a review, but all books are carefully evaluated for potential coverage.
Books and press materials may also be considered for:
- Author interviews
- Book lists and reading roundups
- Event or festival coverage
- Social media features
Placement in these formats is not guaranteed but may be offered when a title or event aligns with our editorial mission.

All published reviews are the property of Literary West Review. Publishers and authors are welcome to quote from reviews for marketing or publicity purposes with appropriate credit.
